In the tone function reference you can read:
Use of the tone() function will interfere with PWM output on pins 3 and 11 (on boards other than the Mega).

Concatenate integers as string
Serial.write(b) prints one byte not a string. Use print() to print strings and numbers.

You use pins 5 and 6 for SoftwareSerial and as INPUT for sevenAmPin and eightAmPin. SoftwareSerial can't work if you set the TX pin as INPUT. I assume you didn't wire the buttons to this pins yet.
