I am Antonis from codebender and we recently released drivers for the Mac. If you want to overcome this problem, without disabling your computer's security settings, maybe I can help you with this! Codebender just released their Mac drivers package, which includes a new driver that supports the CH340G chip, on Yosemite and all other versions of OS X for Mac....

I send email about this issue to WCH, and they change drivers to the latest version on their website, this is direct link http://www.wch.cn/downloads.php?name=pro&proid=178 (driver works and device has proper name in dev/)

As noted elsewhere, there have been plenty of problems with the CH340 driver and the OSX El Capitan betas, culminating into the driver flat out not working in the latest beta. This is either a bug with OSX or a bug in the driver. I would lean towards this being a bug in the driver, which hasn't been updated since late 2013. There are other 3rd party drivers ...

This is a known issue with the included esptool, and for the Arduino IDE there are quite a few blog posts to be found on this problem. But most are outdated, and are not applicable when using PlatformIO with some other IDE. So, February 2016: Install esptool.py git clone https://github.com/themadinventor/esptool/ (or download the ZIP file) cd esptool sudo ...

I used a terminal command: sudo ln -s /dev/tty.wch\ ch341\ USB\=\>RS232\ 1450 /dev/tty.USB0 where /dev/tty.wch\ ch341\ USB\=\>RS232\ 1450 is the original name not recognized by Arduino; and /dev/tty.USB0 is the new port name.

Linux Getting Arduino and Arduino-like boards working properly under Linux can be a troublesome task if you are not familiar with how Linux works. So I am going to introduce you to some of the basic tools you will need to work out why your board isn’t working as you’d like it to work. The majority of problems a new user is faced with boil down to one ...

For Yosemite you seem to need to run this command in the Terminal and then restart the computer to get it to work. sudo nvram boot-args="kext-dev-mode=1"

The folder name is RobotIRremote. It's actually not necessary to remove that folder, though that will solve your problem. A better solution is to change the folder name of the IRremote remote library so that the file named IRremote.h found in that library will be given include priority over the one found in the RobotIRremote library. This is better because ...

You can add source code to the sketch in the Arduino IDE. When adding a new source code file make sure the extension is uppercase .S Files with .S extension will be compiled as Assembly. There is an Arduino IDE for the mac but if you want to use an external editor you have many options. The simplest is to switch on File>Preferences>External Editor ...

The board is an Arduino Nano clone, not an Uno. Plug the Nano's USB cable into your computer. Download and install the CH340 driver from here: http://www.wch.cn/download/CH341SER_MAC_ZIP.html In the Arduino IDE, select the port of your Nano from the Tools > Port menu. Tools > Board > Arduino Nano Sketch > Upload If the port of your Nano doesn't appear in ...

You have an Arduino nano clone using a CH340G chip for serial communication. You to down load and install a driver for your computer to recognize it. I don't use OSX, so there's not one I can recommend.

Setting kext-dev-mode=1 allows unsigned kernel extensions to load, which is not recommended, as it lowers OS X security. Instead, try the signed 64-bit kernel extension from FTDI here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm , version 2.3, which does require changing OS security permissions.

I'm the maintainer of the Bare-Arduino-Project, thanks for using it :) Have you installed pyserial and avrdude? To install avrdude just run brew install avrdude and to install pyserial, you need python installed, then you can run pip install pyserial. https://github.com/WeAreLeka/Bare-Arduino-Project/blob/master/INSTALL.md#3-install-pyserial Hope it ...

My Ruggeduino stopped showing up as a serial device under El Capitan (10.11.6). I was able to fix this by installing/updating the VCP drivers for Silicon Labs USB devices available here: https://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx After installing the Mac driver the Ruggeduino shows up as SLAB_USBtoUART and works fine with the ...

I had downloaded PinChangeInterrupt through Arduino Sketch > Include Library > Manage Libraries... > Filter your search... > PinChangeInterrupt > Install I thought this is all I needed but I was wrong. This differs from the popular PinChangeInt library. Ultimately the file names where slightly different which is why my file was showing as missing. I found ...

That looks like a clone of an Arduino Nano to me, with a CH340G chip as the USB interface chip. You need to: Install the CH340G drivers Ensure that the ATMega328PU chip has a bootloader installed on it The last Nano I bought from China didn't have a bootloader installed. There are many tutorials online for teaching you how to install the bootloader using ...

Windows Ok, the first thing you need to do is identify the kind of board you have. I don't mean is it an Uno, a Mega, or one of Intel's brief forays into the Arduino world - I mean what kind of USB interface the board has. Boards can be loosely grouped into two categories - CDC/ACM and Custom USB Profile. Current versions of the official Arduino Uno and Mega ...

Based on the above comments I provide here the full answer in the hope it will be useful in the future. HC-05 has two modes. The Communication Mode and AT Command Mode. In the latter mode, HC-05 responds in kind of "config" way and many default settings of the communication mode can be change here. While the baud rate of the communication mode, and many ...

Remove the old driver by issuing one of the following commands (depending on your installation): sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/usb.kext sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/usbserial.kext Restart your Mac. Install with Homebrew-Cask Install the driver by the following commands brew tap mengbo/ch340g-ch34g-ch34x-mac-os-x-driver https://github.com/...

Ok, I solved it. First I stopped using the IDE serial monitor as Majenko suggested, and focused on getting the Arduino readings within the python code. Besides trying to use the python code and the IDE monitor at the same time (which apparently you can do in Ubuntu but not in OSX), the original problem was that my python code was not clearing the serial ...

Short: Looking at the ATMEGA16U2 firmware (https://github.com/arduino/ArduinoCore-sam/blob/master/firmwares/atmega16u2/arduino-usbserial/Arduino-usbserial.c) I find that, when you configure/change settings of the USB emulated serial port, the USART is resetted. This happens even when you open the Arduino Serial Monitor (it must configure the serial speed, ...

A simple bluetooth module like a HC-05 wired to your Arduino will give you a serial stream that can be read and/or written. With the RX/TX connected to say pins 10 & 11, a SoftwareSerial() object will provide access: #include <SoftwareSerial.h> SoftwareSerial mySerial(10, 11); // RX, TX void setup() { mySerial.begin(9600); } void loop()...

I have the OS X 10.11 installed and was unable to upload to my Arduino board. I always got stuck with the error code avrdude stk500_getsync() not in sync resp=0x00 After installing the FTDI driver it didnt't work either. So I figured out Apple provides it's own FTDI driver kernel extension since OS X 10.9, named AppleUSBFTDI.kext. So the AppleUSBFTDI ...

Arduino CodeBlocks plug-in has an Arduino simulator. Be carefull when setting it up and use full paths, it's easy to mess up, but works beautifully once done.

once you have installed the driver, you should be able to use it with any IDE or program but I doubt anyone would prefer the Arduino IDE to codebender
