Sea level pressure for BMP280

TLDR: any Arduino is probably sufficient for your purpose when done properly.

How can I downsize protruding pins from sensors to so I can use a smaller housing?
Buy the sensor without pins and solder the wires directly to the board. You should do that anyway for a better mechanical and electrical connection.
