So I'm working on my senior project which is a smart irrigation system based on an esp8266 NodeMCU. Everything is fine but I can't bind the IP of the esp8266 on my router's ARP table since it is not showing in any way in the router's table. Knowing that the esp8266 has an IP 192.168.0.107 // which is not showing in the router. And I've entered the mac address correctly trying to bind it manually but didn't work. Any help please?

  • How does it get its IP address? Is it compiled in or via DHCP? Why are you trying to “bind it in the ARP” table? That’s not something that’s normally done. – romkey Apr 17 at 1:14
  • @romkey Well I configured it to connect to my home wifi and Iet it print its Local IP in the console in addition to its MAC address. And I configured it as a web server which I can access it using its IP. But the problem is that it is not showing as a client connected to my wifi in the router's settings. I want to Bind it's IP since in my area electricity cuts off a lot resetting the IPs of every connected device which I don't want to happen. – Firas Rihan Apr 17 at 2:06

So what you want to do is set a static IP with DHCP... nothing to do with the router's ARP table. – romkey Apr 17 at 4:56
  • As @romkey said, you would normally use a DHCP reservation. – StarCat Apr 17 at 7:33
  • I'm voting to close this question because it is about router configuration not Arduino. – Majenko Apr 17 at 10:06
