As similar to ESP32/ESP8266 that can put asleep for long periods of time, I'm looking for a way to put a Pro-Micro to sleep for more than 8 seconds ( no external interrupt , or RTC ), as used in LowPower.h library.

Appreciate any help.

Edit1: Usage - send sensor reading from a remote location. I'll be solar+battery powered device, so I need to keep power consumption as low as possible.

    Putting the ESP32 into deep-sleep for any amount of time is a simple matter. The problem is that you also likely want to wake-up at some point and for that you need some sort of trigger. The most common is to use the RTC or the ULP co-processor. It seems like you have, for unexplained reasons, ruled those out.     You can sleep 8 seconds at a time using the watchdog. If it's too early to do the job, just go back to sleep. There is absolutely no point in wanting to sleep longer. “Keep power consumption as low as possible” is not a valid reason. The power drain of (roughly) one microsecond of activity every 8 seconds will never have any measurable effect on battery life. – Edgar Bonet Dec 10 '20 at 16:41
