Can I connect a NEO-6M GPS Module and ESP8266 to the same Arduino? I think both modules require the use of the RX and TX pins.

yes you can. what esp8266 module/board? what Arduino? – Juraj Dec 4 '19 at 17:15

You can use Software serial for this.

and assign pins like SoftwareSerial mySerial(2, 3); // RX, TX

This is a link for better understanding https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/SoftwareSerialExample

  • what if they have a Mega? and only one SoftwareSerial can listen – Juraj Dec 5 '19 at 6:21
  • In Mega we can use Two software serial pins with another two Rx tx common pins. arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/TwoPortReceive This link should give you a good perspective about it – Josh Earnest Dec 6 '19 at 5:20
  • Mega has 4 hardware Serials. there is no need to use SoftwareSerial. and how would you use the listen() switching with two modules which can send data any time? – Juraj Dec 6 '19 at 6:08
