am using fingerprint sensor r307 on my project and when l use connection from datasheet(My circuit connection is:

(Green) TX => Pin 0 [PWM]

(White) RX => Pin 1 [PWM]

//It doesn't respond when connected to 5V, it only heats up

(Red) VCC => 3.3v

(Black) GND => GND) the finger print is not light up and it starts to over heat but when l connect from left as ground , tx,rx and last vcc respectively the sensor lights up but it does not shown in the serial monitor it says did not find fingerprint sensor:

my code from Adafruit

#include <Adafruit_Fingerprint.h>

// On Leonardo/Micro or others with hardware serial, use those! #0 is green wire, #1 is white
// uncomment this line:
 #define mySerial Serial1

// For UNO and others without hardware serial, we must use software serial...
// pin #2 is IN from sensor (GREEN wire)
// pin #3 is OUT from arduino (WHITE wire)
// comment these two lines if using hardware serial
//#include <SoftwareSerial.h>
//SoftwareSerial mySerial(10, 11);

Adafruit_Fingerprint finger = Adafruit_Fingerprint(&mySerial);

  • the I/O connector has pin numbers, not colors ... referring to wires by color has no meaning because you have not defined which pin connects to which color – jsotola Oct 16 at 22:14

    What is a "fingerprint sensor r307"? What datasheet do you refer to? Your code is a mess - format it properly. We aren't psychic. No links, no answer. – Majenko Oct 16 at 22:48
