I am trying to burn the bootloader of my cnc xpro controller board (ATmega328pb) using an arduino due as a programmer. I keep getting this error:

Arduino: 1.8.9 (Windows Store 1.8.21.0) (Windows 10), Board: "ATmega328, Yes (UART1 328PB only), 328PB, BOD 2.7V, LTO disabled, 16 MHz external"
Using Port : COM16
Using Programmer : arduino

avrdude done. Thank you.
Error while burning bootloader.

What could be going wrong? Are all the configurations correctly set?

  • I hope you've used some kind of level shifting as CNC xPRO Controller V3 is using 5V logic levels and DUE is using 3V3 only (it's not 5V tolerant) – KIIV Jul 29 at 12:55
