I would like to measure a sensor which uses a 4-20mA current output. The easiest way would be to set the voltage drop to around 5V using a 250 ohm resistor and measure the voltage using the analog pin.

I’ve seen people recommending using a shield specifically for measuring 4-20mA currents.

What is the advantage of these shields? Are they more accurate? Do they reduce noise?
