I have a Wemos D1 Mini on a solar-powered station outdoors. Every ten minutes, it wakes from deep sleep and sends the current temperature via mqtt publish. Works just fine. However in my experiments developing the project, I observe that the ESP can't recover from a power failure. For example if the solar charger can't charge the battery to last all night.

Why would this be happening? If a deep sleep wakes and restarts the code, and pressing the reset button restarts the code, why wouldn't power-off/power-on do the same?

Is there a fix that I am missing? (In the winter, getting to the device to press "reset" in the snow is not a solution).
