Project(skip to here if you don't care): I wanna use the rfid tags as products that i send to a mobile app and from there a suite of different applications. I succeded with a mfrc522 but only for 3cm since that was max for that. Now i am looking to get at least 10cm and i bought the sparkfun rfid and id-la20.

Problem(here):I have an sparkfun rfid qwiic reader but i don't have a qwiic cable. Also i am using an arduino uno R3 and an id-20LA. I am looking for wiring and code to read a simple rfid tag.

Also, unrelated question. If i wanted to read with this setup and after that add a bluetooth send the id tag via bluetooth on an android app. Both bluetooth and rfid would be on software serial. I saw that uno supports only 1 serial at a time. My question. Should i get an arduino Mega?

  • You could be more specific. I've been through the post. I don't have a qwiic cable. – Blaj Alexandru May 11 at 9:35
  • 1
    then use normal I2C wiring. on Uno you can find SDA and SCL pins – Juraj May 11 at 10:09
  • So i i wired: VCC->3.3V GND->GND SDA->A4 SCL->A5 INT->8 Used the code shown there and nothing happens. – Blaj Alexandru May 11 at 15:33
  • I can see the pwr led from both arduino and sparkfun rfid. I modified the code so it doesn't wait for the input and still nothing happens. Any thoughts? – Blaj Alexandru May 11 at 15:34
