I am trying to follow below design to communicate with 2 Arduino Nano, using the example shared here https://github.com/RalphBacon/RS485-Serial-Data-Transmission. When i look at data my slave never receive any data where as master does send data. I am not sure where exactly i am doing mistake and how to get it resolved.

Solution i tried -

1 - Connect ground of both arduino. 2 - Switch Tx/RX with data pin.

Could you please guide me i am i am making any mistake here..

Goal - My goal is to communicate between these 2 Arduino to perform some tasks.

  • master does send data ... how do you know that this is a fact? – jsotola May 4 '19 at 6:31
  • If you are using same code without any change then what is had noticed that you are using pin 8 as RS485inout and it is pin 5 in CODE. 2. you had asked question about two arduino nano and you had shared the diagram for arduino pro mini and arduino mega. – Vaibhav May 4 '19 at 7:04
  • @Vaibhav i did changed that, i put pin 5 in both boards and updated code too. In code they are using pin 6,7 for Tx,Rx and i changed it to 0,1. – Akshay May 4 '19 at 13:19
  • @jsotola i used serial monitor and based on lights i think its transferring data. but there is no way for me to be 100% sure.. – Akshay May 4 '19 at 16:46
