I am working on a project and am having difficulty maximizing how fast we are able to write data to our micro-SD card. Our current setup is an Adafruit Feather M0 with a Class 10 Sandisk Ultra. We are thinking about upgrading this to a Delkin UHS-II / V60 / U3 / Class 10 which is listed as having Max Write Speed: 100 MB/s and Min Write Speed: 60 MB/s. Our main question is will the Max Write Speed be capped by the Arduino itself, making this upgrade effectively useless? Or is write speed something wholly dependent on the card we use? Thanks!

  • As long as the SD Card is connected via SPI, you won't get near these speeds. For this SD Cards use a parallel interface. – chrisl Mar 20 '19 at 20:11
