after adding the esp8266 and the firebase Libraries to the Arduino IDE, I am not getting the .hex file anymore. I already saw in some topics that this is normal and that it will only generate .bin file.

But what can I do to be able to simulate my project in proteus 8? (as it only accepts a .hex file as it seems)

  • Does Proteus even know what an esp8266 is? – Majenko Dec 25 '18 at 21:25
  • I dont know and that's why I am asking here, I googled it and I found some explanations which weren't clear.. – hamma Dec 25 '18 at 22:08
  • My guess is it doesn't. An ESP8266 is not an Arduino. – Majenko Dec 25 '18 at 22:09
  • I see no Xtensa on the list of supported CPUs. So the answer is whatever it is you're trying to do, you can't do it. – Majenko Dec 25 '18 at 22:14
