I have always found out the answers somewhere in this forum but now I feel disappointed and need your help regarding initialising JHD 162A display. My environment is Arduino UNO and JHD 162A display. The display is connected correctly to the arduino board(at least I hope so) but it is not displaying any chracters on the LCD screen I tried an example of "Hello World".My connections are in the attachment.enter image description here

You say it's not showing any characters, but it would be helpful if you described more about what it does do? Do you see any activity at all? Any dark blocks? If the module has a backlight, does it come on? – jose can u c Dec 20 '18 at 16:55
  • All the examples mentioned on this page: arduino.cc/en/Reference/LiquidCrystal have a resistor to limit the current for the background light. Why don't you have such a resistor? – Jot Dec 20 '18 at 18:17
  • it may help to post your sketch/code. – MichaelT Dec 20 '18 at 18:41
