I've synced my Uno with the Arduino IDE and I'm using the following code to get the raw GPS coordinates:

#include <SoftwareSerial.h>

static const int RXPin = 4, TXPin = 3;
static const uint32_t GPSBaud = 9600;

// The serial connection to the GPS device
SoftwareSerial ss(RXPin, TXPin);

void setup()
{
  Serial.begin(9600);
  ss.begin(GPSBaud);
}

void loop()
{
  // Output raw GPS data to the serial monitor
  while (ss.available() > 0){
    Serial.write(ss.read());
  }
}

When I compile, it uploads successfully but when I check the serial streams, it simply displays:

⸮7C⸮wyCCZVa⸮HR-⸮K=LR3⸮(⸮:⸮xk;GqB⸮9Jb⸮j
⸮{BP⸮GQ:⸮⸮⸮bpXB⸮wYP⸮BP⸮⸮⸮⸮BBBμkCzPCy⸮j⸮_c
B⸮JZR⸮⸮7CjCC;Va⸮IR-⸮K=LR3⸮(⸮Z⸮u@ZC]{⸮+Xb9CR⸮⸮R⸮=*Wi⸮⸮7C!jCC;Va⸮IR)⸮K=LR3⸮(⸮[⸮qBZC]{⸮+⸮⸮⸮J⸮⸮K;⸮PR⸮HT

and so on. Is the code wrong? I found it in an online reference where it does work with their module.
