As I am really newbie in the programming stuff I have maybe stupid question:( Is it possible to connect my airduno mega (collecting several data from sensors) via ESP8266-07 module to the internet to be able to upload data to ubidots? Can somebody give me hint regarding connection both modules and programming itself? Thanks Martin

  • Anything's possible, but this question is too broad. – Nick Gammon Mar 1 '17 at 20:21

Should be. Googling the words "Arduino ESP Ubidots" gave many, many useful resources.

  • Thanks for the hint. I am pretty clear about programming the thing itself, but I have problem with connecting both devices together. I tried several hints from the internet, but non of them worked. Usually there are hints for eps8266-01, but I cannot find one for my "07" version. Could you help me with the connection? • You should post that as a specific question, not expect us to guess exactly which part of the problem you're having trouble with. – Mark Smith Feb 17 '17 at 7:18
  • An ESP8266-01, 07 and 12 are effectively the same thing. The numbers tell you how many leads are taken from the chip to the edge of the board(pins). I don't know if its the actual number of digital pins it has (i.e. a 07 has 7 pins) or not, but a 01 has lass than a 07. So you should be able to use your 07 instead of an 01, but you might need to change the wires. ALSO Don't forget you can program an ESP using the Arduino IDE and the Arduino version of C++. Its much more natural than all those vile AT commands :) – Code Gorilla Feb 17 '17 at 12:47
