Is there a directory where, if I put files there, they will be on the Yun's internal flash instead of the SD card? ex. No SD card error handler file.

I'm using openssh-sftp-server for a sftp server, if relevent.

As root you can write to anywhere you want. As a normal user you can write to anywhere that user has permission to write to (their own home directory normally).

However, what you are asking is pretty meaningless at the moment, since you don't mention what the file should be, what it should do, how it should be used, etc. Just placing a file somewhere on the flash is a meaningless operation unless you have something else that is going to then access that file - and that "something" may have special requirements about where files are placed.

  • The file is supposed to be on the yun without an sd card as an error handler for a script I'm going to write (should i of ext-rooted it to the sd?) – Alexander M Dec 15 '15 at 16:12
  • You aren't making any sense. – Majenko Dec 15 '15 at 16:13
  • does this code work for you to understand? if(!sd) then open file1 else open file2 file1 is on flash and file2 is on sd – Alexander M Dec 16 '15 at 1:47
  • So you can put it anywhere you like then. Where is sensible? That depends entirely on your program. /usr/share is a good start. Or the folder where your software is. Or wherever takes your fancy. – Majenko Dec 16 '15 at 2:12
