I can't find more information on the Ethernet Shield. Arduino.cc has docs about it but where do I buy it? Is Arduino.org the sole provider? I've read about the political schism between the two companies and I'd rather not buy from them.

  • store.arduino.cc/… ? It's on the arduino.cc store and if they have political schism, they wouldn't be handling eachothers' sales? You can also buy one from sparkfun or buy an ethernet-arduino. Or module (not shield). You can usually find those way cheaper. – Paul Oct 21 '15 at 18:14
  • @FuaZe could you link to the ethernet shield directly? – Evan Carroll Oct 21 '15 at 18:15
  • There are at least 2 variants: Ethernet Shield and Ethernet Shield 2... – gone Oct 21 '15 at 19:42
  • @yeti those are both .org. – Evan Carroll Oct 22 '15 at 2:00
  • @EvanCarroll: Does the origin matter when you find clones? – gone Oct 22 '15 at 3:23

ebay is overflowing with ethernet shields/modules.

Alternatively, if you trust Wikipedia, you can form your own opinion about from which of the parent stores to buy.

  • I bought a few from eBay. They did not work at all reliably compared to the genuine ones. – Nick Gammon Oct 21 '15 at 20:30
