Sep 2, 2016 at 7:28 | comment | added | FabioEnne | @Matt Probably you are right..anyway my Router doesn't see him as a connected device, so also via Browser I got no response from the Arduino IP.. very strange...probably is a faulty Ethernet shield..

Sep 1, 2016 at 14:54 | comment | added | Code Gorilla | @FabioEnne - Do you mean the webserver on the Arduino? I wouldn't expect that to make a difference to the ping service. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think an Arduino responds to ping unless you have put some code on there to do it. Basically I think your system is working.
Sep 1, 2016 at 14:16 | comment | added | FabioEnne | @Matt I suppose yes, as long as the WebServer is up and running...
Sep 1, 2016 at 12:27 | comment | added | Code Gorilla | Does your Arduino support ping? Looking at your code I can't see where you open the socket and monitor it for incoming ping requests.

Oh, and you might like to wrap all your string literals in F("...") to move them out of precious RAM.

Sep 1, 2016 at 10:53 | comment | added | FabioEnne | @Majenko it's a Chinese one, what do you mean by few resets? Clicking the reset button few times?
Sep 1, 2016 at 10:51 | comment | added | Majenko | Genuine Arduino shield, or Chinese knock-off? Those Chinese knock-offs often need a few resets to get them to actually communicate.
