You are also using the LiquidCrystal library and Serial (which uses a 64 byte buffer). Removing all else, you end up with about 260 bytes already. Though, I have no idea where the other 750 bytes go to.

What does avr-nm -Crtd --size-sort your_elf_file tell you? Look at symbols of type D , B and V .
